Our Pathway
The Facts.
GTP Foundation’s mission is to create opportunities for young people to pursue excellence in academics, tennis, service, and life. GTP Foundation does not turn away any student who has a passion for tennis due to their inability to afford it. If we see a passion and interest in tennis, we give the player the opportunity to go all the way through the GTP Pathway.
The Pathway.
To make the game more accessible and enjoyable to children of all abilities, training begins with our beginner tennis program. Once they have developed the basic skills, they progress to our next-level program on full-size courts and learning to play matches. When they are ready, they move to our elite level clinics and are playing up to four days a week. We also have an option for those who wish to take their game to the next level and join our school program.
These players train 5 days a week and attend a variety of virtual school options. Here at GTP Foundation, we consider this "pathway" to be our greatest success. This journey can start from a variety of places, from a recreation center gym to our home courts at Spencer Love. Our pathway creates a wonderful opportunity for these young players and an enormous financial obligation for us.
The Numbers.
In 2022, GTP Foundation provided $222,259.00 in need-based financial assistance. This number supports 35 current GTP student-athletes. However, none of these scholarships are fully funded. To continue growing our program, we need to increase funding in order to continue providing these same opportunities for our current students and to bring in new students!
